On 11th April we held a very successful Titanic evening. In a cafe-style atmosphere, special guest Leah Fleming spoke about her book, The Captain's Daughter, and the audience enjoyed wine, canapes and a challenging quiz which posed problems even for the Titanoraks. We hope to be able to hold more events like this in the future, so watch this space.
May sees the launch of an exciting new venture, the Ilkley Shopping Trail. There is a wealth of great, independent shops in Ilkley and from 11th to 13th May we will be celebrating this local initiative with a children's fun day in the shop, with balloons, games, goody bags and more. Looking further ahead, this year's Independent Booksellers' Week runs from Saturday 30th June to Saturday 7th July. We will be celebrating all week, and there will be special appearances from crime author Peter Robinson and the ever-popular Gervase Phinn. More details will be available nearer the time.
